Our Fire Safety Awareness Training Course is designed to raise awareness of fire and fire hazards which can occur in a range of workplaces and situations. The course offers guidance on how to respond in the event of a fire emergency, including keeping colleagues informed, using exit plans and selecting or using the correct fire extinguisher depending on the type of fire.
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Describe the chemistry of fire.
List the actions to be taken in the event of a fire.
Discuss your organisations evacuation procedures.
Evaluate and determine the correct fire extinguisher to use in different situations
Participants will cover the following course outline
Causes/cost of fires.
Fire safety legislation (Overview).
Physics and chemistry of fire.
How fire developments and spreads
Action in the event of fire
Action upon hearing the fire alarm.
Action in tackling the fire.
Choosing the correct extinguisher.
Use of fire extinguisher.
Raising alarm and summoning the fire brigade.
Role of the wardens.
This course is run over a 1/2 day and will include presentations, videos and demonstrations to aid learning.
